Speech activities

  1. Snowball. A teacher suggests a topic, e.g. weather. The first pupil says the first sentence. The next pupil repeats this sentence and adds his. The last pupil will repeat all the sentences from his memory.

  2. Describe … using the table/the substitution table/the skeleton/the key words/phrases/ the plan/the outline.

  3. Read the description of … and use it as a model to describe … .

  4. Describe … (a person/ an object) but don’t mention it. The group will guess what you are speaking about.

  5. This is a picture from your album. Describe … (your summer holidays/who these people are/your visit to …).

  6. Interview your group-mate and then report back to the class.

  7. Do a class survey.

  8. Prove that … .

  9. Explain … .

  10. Do you agree that … ?

  11. What do you think?

  12. Roleplay. Choose a role card for yourself and do the task.

  13. Tell the story in the order of the pictures.
