Pronunciation activities

  6. Tick the sentence you hear.

  8. Listen and repeat. Underline the word you hear.

  9. Listen to the words. Find this word on your card and match it to its transcription and translation (every student has a card, on which the words, their transcription and translation are arranged in three columns).

  10. Listen to the words. If you can eat it, put up a green card. If you can’t eat it, put up a red card (if you can put it into your schoolbag, if you can wear it…).

  11. Parrots/Echo. You are parrots/echo. What do parrots do? They repeat everything. Repeat it after me.

  12. Listen and repeat it after me if I’m right.

  13. Repeat it in different ways (happily, sadly, quickly, slowly, in a trembling voice etc.).

  14. Repeat it as if you were a comedian (tragedian, a radio at the railway station, a soldier, a bear, a child, a hypnotist, a very old person, a sneezing and coughing person).

5. You are going to explain the articulation of the sound. You want to draw your pupil’s attention.
